Privacy Policy
KidzMade (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the websites kidzmade.com and kidzmadeadvertising.com (the “Site”). We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and families. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have as a parent or guardian. Because our platform involves children, we comply fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. § 6501 et seq., and the FTC’s COPPA Rule, 16 C.F.R. Part 312.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to all visitors of the Site and to all parents or guardians who submit contest entries on behalf of their children. KidzMade does not allow children under the age of 13 to create accounts, submit information, or interact with the Site directly. All participation by minors must be facilitated by a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old.
2. Information we collect
From parents and guardians
When a parent or guardian submits a contest entry, we collect:
- Parent or guardian full name
- Parent or guardian email address
- Relationship to the child (e.g., parent, legal guardian)
- Child’s first name and age
- Name of the toy featured in the child’s submission
- The child’s artwork (image file)
What we do NOT collect
We never collect a child’s last name, photograph, school, home address, or location. We never collect any personal information directly from a child. We do not collect payment information, Social Security numbers, or precise geolocation data.
Automatically collected information
Like most websites, we may automatically collect standard technical data such as IP addresses, browser type, device type, and pages visited. This data is used only for site analytics and security and is never linked to a child’s submission or identity.
3. How we use your information
We use the information collected only for the following purposes:
- To process and display contest entries on the KidzMade website and social media channels
- To notify the parent or guardian by email if their child’s entry wins or is selected as a featured submission
- To share winning artwork with KidzMade’s brand partners for promotional purposes, credited by the child’s first name and age only
- To communicate contest updates and KidzMade news to parents who have opted in
- To improve the Site and our services through aggregate, anonymized analytics
We will never use your information or your child’s artwork for any purpose not listed above without obtaining fresh, explicit consent from you first.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With brand partners for the purpose of promoting contest results. Only the child’s first name, age, and artwork are shared. No parent contact information is ever shared with brand partners.
- With service providers who help us operate the Site (such as hosting providers or email delivery services), under strict confidentiality agreements.
- As required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the safety of any person.
5. COPPA compliance and parental consent
KidzMade takes its obligations under COPPA seriously. Because our platform involves children under 13, we require verifiable parental consent before any child’s information or artwork is submitted or displayed.
By completing the contest submission form, the parent or guardian:
- Confirms they are the parent or legal guardian of the child named in the submission
- Confirms they are at least 18 years of age
- Provides verifiable consent for the collection and use of their child’s first name, age, and artwork as described in this policy
- Agrees to KidzMade’s contest rules and this Privacy Policy
Your rights as a parent or guardian:
You may at any time:
- Review the personal information we have collected about your child
- Request deletion of your child’s personal information and/or artwork
- Revoke consent for further use of your child’s artwork
- Opt out of marketing communications
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@kidzmade.com. We will respond within 10 business days.
6. How we display children’s artwork
When a contest entry is published on the KidzMade website or social media channels, we display:
- The child’s artwork
- The child’s first name only
- The child’s age
We never display a child’s last name, photograph, school, city, state, or any other identifying information alongside their artwork.
Parents may request removal of their child’s artwork at any time by contacting us at hello@kidzmade.com.
7. Data retention
We retain parent contact information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or until a parent requests deletion. Contest artwork may be retained for up to 36 months following the contest in which it was submitted, after which it is permanently deleted unless we have obtained separate written consent to retain it longer.
Parents may request immediate deletion of all information at any time by emailing hello@kidzmade.com.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include secure hosting, access controls, and encrypted data transmission (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Third-party links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. KidzMade is not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage parents to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites their children visit.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If we make material changes that affect how we handle children’s personal information, we will notify parents by email and require fresh consent where required by law. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
